Heavy heart, Positive Outlook

Today I found myself once again arriving at school almost in tears.  My heart is broken about what happened last week in Paris.    The news this morning that 4 million people came out to raise their voices together in Paris really stunned me and moved me.  At 6:45, I called my friend who lives quiet close to the first attack, and was so happy to hear that she is ok -- upset and unsettled, yes, but ok -- and we made a date to talk further on the phone.  When I arrived at school this morning, I think the tears welled up in my eyes because of this awesome trust and task I've been given, and knowing that I need to put on a happy face and positive outlook in order to do it: to lead, inspire, encourage, and teach my students about French and Spanish language, about serving others, about how to get along in community, about peace, about how human beings come to grips with evil.  I have so much hope for our students, and I pray that my role in guiding them on their...
